A social media start-up requires an intern Researcher. The Researcher will be based in Lagos, Nigeria. The mission of the start-up is to be the number one portal in Anglophone Africa.

Responsibilities

• The Researcher will assist in the overall growth of the web portal, 
• The Researcher will be required to provider support for other members of staff,
• The Researcher will gather both qualitative and quantitative data, and
• The Researcher will work on standard and ad hoc research projects.

Ideal Candidate Requirements (Experience, Skills, Competencies, etc.)

• Must have proven experience researching and fact checking data,
• Must have good knowledge of social, political, economic and political events in Africa,
• Must stay abreast of current issues in Africa,
• Must be passionate about research, investigation, data gathering and analysis.
• Must have excellent command of English Language – Written and spoken,
• Must be an excellent communication skills,
• Must be a sociable person with strong networking skills - a strong social DNA,
• Must be a wide reader and a keen researcher,
• Must be an unbiased professional - without any political, social, religious agenda to promote,
• Must have good project management skills, and
• Must have basic IT skills include MS Excel.
