Job Function
The Project Manager is the key link between partners and potential clients in Nigeria and the Life Sciences division members and support teams.  The role is varied and extensive and the Project Manager must demonstrate strong communication skills, high levels of self-motivation and organisation and a high level of professionalism to promote the entire range of Informa Life Sciences events across Nigeria.

Job Purpose
  • To increase awareness and participation of Informa Life Sciences events across Nigeria.
  • To maintain existing and develop new partner and customer relationships
  • To forge partnerships with relevant Government bodies and trade associations
  • To collect payments for invoices to Nigerian companies, ensuring clear understanding of Informa  terms and conditions are adhered to and payments are reflected as per dates on invoices.
  • To negotiate best possible deals with local vendors, media houses, venues and contractors.

Job Accountabilities 
  • Contribute to the achievement of sales revenue/profit targets. As set by Sales Director and Director – LS Group Africa confirmed in the annual budget review in October each year
  • Schedule and manage their own calendar meeting relevant stakeholders across Western Africa
  • Introduction of new sponsors and exhibitors to the sales team
  • Providing Conference Producers with topic suggestions for each conference under the event and new speakers who will add value to the program
  • Introducing new media partners, trade associations and advertising opportunities to marketing manager/director
  • Distribute Informa show literature at Nigerian events, conferences and client meetings.
  • In addition - market awareness e.g. competitive events, industry trends, specific industry knowledge related to show profile

Key Dimensions:
Main job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Drive through the achievement of sales revenue/profit targets
  • increase revenue for shows from local partners
  • increase attendee numbers, media partners and trade associations within the local market
  • Continue to build strong relationships with current and potential clients both pre and post event
  • Update and maintain accurate records of confirmed calls and meetings via the integrated sales system – Ungerboeck
  • Demonstrate the ability to actively seek out new prospects and opportunities
  • Work closely with the marketing team to ensure effective exhibitor promotion campaign
  • Continually build Informa database of relevant stakeholders across West Africa.
Operations/Administration
  • Assist with connecting Dubai operations team with new contractors and partners who can offer value to our exhibitions. Coordinate payment facilitation with local vendors.
  • Observe new opportunities across Nigeria for event venues and promotional activities
  • Assist with VISA Invitation letters for international guests, visitors and exhibitors. 
  • Liaise with appointed accounts contact on a regular basis to monitor invoicing and payment status
  • Assist in payment collection as deemed necessary
  • Liaise with appointed operations contact on a regular basis
  • During an event provide onsite management and support to customers/clients/other staff members etc.  
General
  • Continually monitor and research the market
  • Identify and attend competitive events where appropriate
  • establish, build and maintain new relationships with all domestic show stakeholders.
  • Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility

Person Specification
Minimum Education Level
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

Background Knowledge, Skills & Experience 
Essential
  • Significant experience in events industry
  • Experience in Nigeria b2b market
  • Full understanding of event sales cycles 
  • Computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel 
  • Commercial awareness   
  • Be self motivated and responsible to mange own time and diary 
  • Speaks fluently and writes clearly in English to both individuals and groups
  • Possess a Nigerian driving license

Desirable
  • Understanding of regional languages of Nigeria – Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba etc…
  • Awareness of exhibition production
  • Experience of growing and developing new markets and products
  • Tele-sales or Exhibition sales background
  • Related industry knowledge
