Purpose of Position
The
Auto Technician position will be responsible for diagnosing and
repairing client vehicles with integrity and ethics, and also
maintaining a positive relationship with clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Must use sophisticated computerized test equipment to diagnose vehicle problems as well as read and follow diagnostic procedures
- Discusses with the customer as to the nature and extent of damage or malfunction
- Provides labor time and parts estimates to the Client
- Perform appropriate repairs and preventative maintenance on client’s vehicles
- Perform electrical repairs
- Obtains parts for stock and request ordering of special parts;
- performs on-site maintenance and repair to stationary or disabled equipment
- Submits records of work performed and parts and supplies used
- Stays abreast of new automotive repair technology by attending seminars and/or update classes as needed
- Maintains strict adherence to company policy on client vehicle care and operation
Education/Experience
- Must have at least five or more years’ experience as a mechanic.
- At least OND in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Vocational or Technical School diploma acceptable
- Strong interpersonal skills, decision-making and organizational skills.
- Sound knowledge of gasoline and/or diesel engine.
- Ability to work with electronic diagnostic tools in addition to power and hand tools.
- Valid Driver’s license
