Job Summary:
We
are looking for a Manager who has the skills and disposition to take up
the challenge of growing a start-up project into a profitable business
- A graduate of a reputable institution,
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in the industry
- Knowledge of different aspects of the business would be an advantage.
- Ability to take on the challenge of growing a start-up into a profitable business.
- Must be able to formulate procedures (overall and departmental) and ensure compliance
- firm but friendly team leader able to inspire and train rookies in the industry
- Must possess good oral and written communication skills; presenting quarterly reports to the board is a part of the job description
- Must be resilient, resourceful, set high standards and pay attention to detail.
- Good computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft suite is mandatory.
- Must have high ethical standards
- Sufficiently knowledgeable about the business to draw up the procedural manuals (overall and departmental) that will govern the operations of the hotel.
- Willing and able to put in the long hours required at the start of operations
- Able to train supervisory and junior staff (though external facilitators will also be utilized)
- Financially savvy, with a strong business orientation.
- Able to write reports and prepare data for presentation to the Board
- Very strong in the area of business ethics.
- Firm and fair
- Mentally adaptable for work in the tropics/third world country, a positive mindset to challenges is considered an asset.
